Hooray for a Half Marthon!

by admin on November 7th, 2011

Half Marathons are the fastest growing race distance around.  13.1 mile races are popping up on race calendars like petunias in the Spring.  So when we created a race series that progresses perfectly to train for the 13.1 distance, we had to add it.  As of this week, we are so happy to announce that we are adding a half marathon distance as the fourth event in our race series.

We know you are anxious to learn more so here are all the details.
Date: September 15, 2012  If you are running the Mid-Mountain Marathon, this is a great way to get out and loosen those legs the week after that long race.
Time: 8:00am
Place:  Round Valley Trail Head at Quinn’s Junction
Price: $30 before January 1, $35 before April 1, $40 before August 11, $45 before September 14, @ 7:00pm.

Course Highlights: The course has all the highlights from the 10k and 15k.  The additional mileage is a mixture and of terrain and difficulty levels including uphill single-track, flat graded dirt road, and variable double track.  Participants of this race can rest assured that running in this event will prepare them for any terrain they may meet while trail running.

Aid Stations:  There will be six aid stations on the course.  They will be roughly at miles 1.5, 3, 5, 7.5, 9.5, and 11.5.  All aid stations will be stocked with water, disposable cups, and friendly volunteers.  ***Please note*** due to the nature of these events, all on-course support must be mountain biked in/out.   Therefore, runners are advised to take all their electrolyte and gel needs with them on the course.  Nuun will be provided at the start/finish area and any runners needing electrolytes on the course are advised to fill a water bottle before the race begins and carry it with them during the event.

We are so excited to be able to bring this unique trail running opportunity to the trail runners of the Wasatch.  Register early for the best pricing on one or all four of our events!
