Backcountry.com began in 1996 with two guys and a stack of avalanche beacons in an apartment in Park City, Utah. Our roots were humble, but our vision was clear: to sell the best outdoor gear there is, and to be the best at doing it. We’ve grown since then, but our vision is still 20/20. We’re the place for those who are as intense about their gear as they are about their summit push, project send, or big-mountain line. Selection, service, expertise, and experience are our four middle names. Our customer service team, the gearheads, are on call 24/7 to help you find what you’re looking for, and our no-questions-asked return policy makes it easy to change your mind or find the right size. Providing an amazing customer experience is our priority. We mean that. The Backcountry experience doesn’t end with a delivery at your doorstep. We want you to tell us about your gear and how you’re using it. You’re the experts and we want your opinions, and so do the rest of our customers. Our on-site Community is a place to share your reviews, questions, answers, and personal photos. The more you share, the more information other customers have to help them pick what’s right for them — and that’s just a win-win for everybody.
The North Face® brand has grown from a single storefront to a respected global brand that generates over a billion dollars in annual sales in just over 40 years. Yet the fundamental mission remains unchanged: building the best gear for the outdoors, supporting the preservation of wild places, and inspiring a global movement of outdoor exploration.
The North Face launched a new Ultra Trail running line for 2014. These shoes received the Runner’s World Best Debut award AND the Outside Magazine Gear of the Year award. Wanna try them before you buy them? Come to any of our four events and try the shoes out during the race. If you like them, you can purchase them right there and then at the end of the race from our sponsor, backcountry.com.
